Link Bar automatically adding link to other link bar

Hi,

This is a bit confusing, so please bear with me.

I have created three link bars in sharepoint designer which each have links to point to different pages. My problem is that the first link bar is automatically including a link to the second link bar and the second is including a link to the third link bar. When I remove the link to the second link bar, from the first link bar, then it deletes the entire second link bar. Does anyone have any ideas how to prevent this from happening.
