I know this is not the forum, but well, hope it won't be banned. At least I always find answers here

I am a young project leader (Avanade speech) who want to improve not technically, I want to improve my human factor. My first project is going ok, but I want people to work more and harder (without using latigo:P). I would like to buy a book about motivation and group leadership. I just want to know which is the best one.
In my project people is going through differents moods, and I want to direct it if it is possible.
Thanks in advance.

thanks for the response. But that isn't what i am looking for. I want something more psicological. People works better if they are happy and motivated.
I am agree with you in the smarter and better, you can save thousands of lines of code doing a good desing. But as more desing the client get more nervous, i don't know in your country, but in Spain clients want to view screens soon!!
I liked the project paralysis expression.

I like this one, surely not the best but works

An observation I want to make, creaturita, in my opinion is not a matter of working more and harder, but working smarter and better
I mean: working more does not necessarily implies achieving more goals (actually, trespassed certain threshold, the more you work the less you finish, until the project paralysis comes)

believe me that the book I suggested you has all to do about showing soon screens to the customer, despite it isn't about psicological aspects of team motivation you asked
(actually it has a good chapter about team building and role assignment but surely not from the perspective you asked)
Anyway, let's wait if someone else provides soon the guidance you need
