renaming Server running WSS v3

Hi All,

a customer of mine decided to rename the server which is hosting WSS v3 from "name-new" to "name". Due to all DB entries had the "name-old" reference they did not work after renaming.

How to resolve that issue now Is it enough to re-run the WSS configuration and attach to an existing farm
