Approvers not getting email

Everytime we start a workflow the user gets an email but the approvers do not get an email. Did anyone have this problem

    Thanks for the reply. Everything works fine on the development server, but on the production server, approvers are not getting an email when a workflow is initiated. But the initiator does get an email after submitting the document.I have no clue whats happening bcos everything seems to be same on the development and production. Except that production is on internet and development is on intranet. Any help would be really helpful.
