Hey guys, i am getting thie error in my workflow, but not regurlarly... if i do the same things, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. when the workflow is triggered to start, this error is thrown: "Failed on start (retrying)" ----- "Error updating a list item".
any ideas

I'm getting the same problem. If now tried everything. I'm working on a VM with WSS 3.0 installed and i'm trying to get an example on workflows working from the "Real World Sharepoint 2007" book. I even downloaded the example from their site and tried that. Still doesn't work. I'm all out of ideas.

What column in your document library is the workflow trying to update is it a name, date, person etc.
