I have a SPS 2007 installation. I am using the STSADM.exe for backing up the installation. The indexing server is processing the data and it goes down.
My question is can I restore the already processed data and start processing from where the processing was left If yes how can I achieve that
Or I have to restore from the last backup taken by stsadm.exe only
Thanks

Recovering Semi Processed data

If it is just the index server that died you can always just recreate the indexes without having to restore everything from backup.

Thanks for the reply. If only the index server goes down and i am recreating the indexes.
If I have the index server also backed up. Can I restore the indexes and perform an incremental search to complete the indexing
Also what while creating the indexes and processing of the data the server goes down. If the server is brought up again. from where will the indexes be created again
