Hi,
We have got WSS 2.0 installed with TFS v1 installation. Ever since we are using this system for our document library and collaboration. While using the system we discovered many issues in WSS 2.0 that can cause data loss. Given below are two main issues:
1) If a user (intentionally/unintentionally) deletes a document in WSS 2.0, all its versions get deleted with no option to recover.
2) It allows a second user to checkin document that is checked out by first user. That too without first user's knowledge.
Now that WSS 3.0 is out, I'm wondering if it makes any sense to upgrade Does it solve issues like above
Cheers!

WSS 3.0. Should I upgrade?

D2,
1) There are a number of open source Recycle Bins for WSS V2.
MSIT Recycle Bin or Doc Library Template Recycle Bin by Todd Bleeker
(links from Joel Olesons blog)
2) Checkout is a bit poor in WSS V2 and it does improve in V3.
However you sticking point may be that TFS does not yet work with WSS V3 (Please post if this has changed recently).

Thanks for your post. I was going through the various blogs from TFS and WSS development teams, looks like some major issues in upgrading wss 3.0 as it doesnt even allow to create team projects after upgradation. That is the first thing and most important step in creating team projects. In other words, after upgradation.. TFS has no value.
Cheers!

to WSS 3 indeed breaks the calls that TFS makes to WSS. We will officially support WSS 3 in our Orcas release (our upcoming one) - we'll even install it for you (and .NET 3) if you want! :)
