  Hello,

  I'm trying tu configure mmc for idm but i cannot use it. When the console ask for authentication to service catalog service i can't go on. I tried with all users members of Requestors@sc group but it don't work. No error message is provided, just the consol ask again for logging on service catalog service.

  I even tried with domain administrator, but no success.

  Which account must i use

  Hi,

  I have created an application and I am trying to set secondary credentials for a user. I tried it programatically and through ESSO mmc (Did not try trhough IDM mmc as it has some bug). However I am not able to set secondary credentials for user and always get an exception:
  

  Exception: Cannot perform encryption or decryption because the secret is not available from Master Secret Server.

  I have used "Password" as Credential Type.

  This exception comes when doing programatically as well as when doing through ESSO mmc. I have checked that ESSO service is up and running.

  Can somebody figure this out

  We have replaced those tools with MMC for IDM.

  Using the Management console for IDM you could create an Application as well as Secondary credentails in SSO. This also enforces you indirectly to follow the best practices of having the services registered in Service Catalog.

  You could use the MMC for AD to perform the rest of the operations like Creating User / Group / Org.

  I assume you have the SC installed properly..with the app pool and service account etc. The reason i am saying that is even though the install says it is successful, I have seen instances where SC is not installed.

  That said, even if you have mmc for IDM configured correctly..you won't be able to create applications, as there is an open bug to be fixed soon. So for creating applications and configuring external credntails, I would recommend you to use SSO MMC
