Could I use mpeg-2 video, i.e. renamed VOB-file from DVD-video as video resource in HD-DVD project Is it realy allowed in HD-DVD standard And what file extension is recommended for this video

    No, that won't work, you will need to convert your MPEG2 asserts into HD DVD MAP/VOB/VTI files.

    ihdsim wont read MPEG2 no matter what format it is wrapped in.
