  You're not running Sidebar as Administrator, right click on Sidebar, select "View list of running gadgets". You'll see it's running.
  
  If you can wait a day or two, I'll have a Gadget that works without all this fuss. I've just coded the DLL to read the NIC info, and am doing the Gadget side as we speak.

  NetActivity will only work if Sidebar is running elevated as Administrator. So you'll need to exit Sidebar and manually run it as Adminstrator.
  
  If you installed it as a normal user, the Gadget doesn't appear for some reason.

  By the way, I copied manually the files of the gadget to C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\ and now it seems to work.

  I think I'm am running the Sidebar as admin as far as I disabled the UAC.
  
  The thing is that I can't even install this gadget. I click on "NetActivity.Gadget", I am asked if i trust the developper, bla bla, I say "install" but nothinkg happens.
