Hi
I am trying to distribute a window media player file (.wmv) embedded in an html page to our company. On their build they have an older version of windows media player though Im not sure which one. In any case the video doesnt play and there is pop up asking you to install the WMV-9 VCM RTW video codec. However the security settings wont let them install it. Will this pop up still be required if the uptodate version 9 (fro windows 2000) is installed or does the codec still need installed If so is it possible to install it as part of the desktop build
Any help appreciated.

WMV-9 VCM RTW video codec?

Please upgrade to WMP v9 if it does not impact your business.
If it still does not work, please try to install codec package from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/format/codecdownload.aspx
P.S. You may also install this package without upgrading to WMP v9 if your client version is v7.1 or above.

Since this is mostly a WMP question, post it here instead: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/community/newsgroups/WindowsMedia/default.mspx dg=microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player&lang=en&cr=US
