Ad insert without stopping the source material?

I want to run an ad during the inning break in a baseball game that is being presented as an on demand presentation. Because the inning break is a break we do not want to resume at the point where the ad started. For example the innning break is 1 minute 10 seconds long. When the break starts we run a 1 minute ad. When we return we see the last 10 second of the inning break. Right now when I return I see the entire 1 minute 10 second inning break. Any ideas
