Using smartvsd.VXD

i want to know how can i using smartvsd.vxd or vWin32.vxd in win98 to get Hard Disk Serial.

i copied smartvsd.vxd in system\Iosubsys\ and vWin32.vxd in system\Vmm32\ .

i write this program in VB.NET and it's work fine in WinXP SP2,SP1 , win2000 and ...

i want to know when i copied Smartvsd.vxd and vWin32.vxd in their folders , i have to install them or registering them
