diference between search and Index in documentation

  • Steve from adzac

Search will look through the selected documentation for articles containing the words you search for (you can choose to only search titles if you want). Index is an alphabetical list of all of the topics, and so you can only find files based on the beginning of the titles. I personally don't use the index, but I have noticed that it seems like it is used by the designer when you press F1 to look up a class or method, since if it doesn't find the article it takes you to the index.

doesn t give any result in (Ctrl Alt F2) Index mode although it gives results in (Ctrl Alt F3) Search mode

2- There were also times when i I type somethng and I find results in Index mode but I don t find those results in search mode. any idea why
