Hey gang.
I am using VS 2005, Windows Mobile 5 SDK and I've tried the VS 2005 Device Emulator and the Device Emulator 2 BETA CTP that is available.
I can't seem to get anything to "Cradle" with Windows Mobile Device Center. Can the current software Cradle properly on Vista
If so what do I require I have also tried the following. I downloaded the VPC Network driver, and it doesn't work either.
When I launch the emulator I receive the following error:
"Failed to open VPC Network Driver". I'm really having a difficult time to debug internet enabled applications at this point in time because of this issue.
Barry Bond said to ask for an ETA for DeviceEmulator V2's ship date
He mentions the V2 that ships with Windows CE 6.0 contains the redesigned
ActiveSync-over-DMA extension which works correctly on Windows Vista.
Is this true The current CTP of V2 does not work on Vista with the Sync over DMA
Please let me know what my options are if there are any on Vista.
Thanks and take care.

Emulator V2 will be released soon on the Internet.
Network connectivity on Vista is still being addressed. Can you please try this:
"users who wish to have direct Ethernet connectivity from the Device Emulator may download the driver from Virtual Machine Network Driver for Microsoft Device Emulator. However, this VMNet Driver is available for install "as-is" and is not a supported service."
Note: I haven’t tried this on Vista myself, and I don’t know if it will surely work. But if you don’t have it regular networking won’t work.

Could you link me to the driver download Perhaps I am using the wrong one. Also in Vista where can I ensure the VPC Network driver is working I don't think I see it anywhere in device manager.
I just cannot get anything to work on Vista. This is unfortunate. If V2 is not coming anytime soon, is it possible someone could release a fix then
Thanks and take care.

Yes, Device Emulator version shipped with WinCE6.0 contains the fix for Activesync-over-DMA which you can use. V2 Beta CTP available will not work on Vista. We will soon anounce on this forum as soon as V2 ship date is decided upon.
But binding to VPC Network driver should be working fine. Can you please cross check that VPC network driver is installed and manually try to bind it to emulator from File->Configure or launch specifying mac address.

Could anyone help me out please This is very frustrating.
I get the following:
"Failed to open VPC Network Driver"
I have tried everything. uninstalling, reinstalling the driver, rebooting, hard reset the emulator, nothing works. I do not see it even listed in device manager. Where can I go to see if this driver is listed or working or anything
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
