.net compact framework won't install on my mobile 2003 arm pocket pc.

  I believe that version 2.0 is what is needed, although i haven't received an answer yet from the software developer yet. Their installer stalls when trying to install their updated versionof the software as it requires the .net framework runtime from their site. I tried to install the package from microsoft and got the same errors.

  Not sure of your specific question. I tried via the desktop as well as thru the msi thru the download from the software company that is using it to run their software. Since they changed over to using the .net framework, I'm not having any luck with the .net install. I'm using the latest active sync which is required for the latest .net to work with the pocket pc..

  Please explain the differences of the "Wm5" and "windows CE 4.2". I thought that all the pocket pc's with windows mobile 2003 were all compatible. Thanks.

  Hi,

  I just tried to install version 1.0 and that installed, however, when I try to install the software that needs the .net framework, latest version I assume, the installer for the specific software won't continue unless the version 2.0 installs. If that doesn't install, then the installer aborts the entire install process. Bummer.

  what version of the CF 1.0 2.0

  If it is .NET CF 2.0, I believe .NET CF 2.0 is not installable on WM2003 (I think this applies to smartphones, not sure about PPCs), but only on WM5 and Windows CE 4.2 (that is, .NET CF 2.0 SP1)

  How are you installing it Via desktop or copying over the cab file to the device and installing it from there

  Toshiba e350 is one of few early PPC 2003 devices which are know to be incompatible with NETCF V2 due to OS issue. You can check with Toshiba if OS update is available for it. If not, NETCF V2 can not be installed on to it. Please see this for more details:

  looks like you cant install .NET CF 2.0 on WM2003 (as I had assumed and stated before in a doc somewhere I believe). You can install .NET CF 2.0 on WM5 devices and Windows CE 4.2 (if using the SP1 installer)
