Hi,
I bought a new smart phone Dopod 577w. In my system, ActiveSync 4.2 and Visual Studio 2003 and 2005 have been installed. The question/problem is I couldn't run compact framework applications (VS 2003/2005) in that device. Please send your suggestion or links.
Note: But that device(smartPhone) sync well.
Thanx

Hi,
Yeah I thought so and made some changes according to the following link:-
http://blogs.conchango.com/stuartpreston/archive/2005/11/10/2376.aspx
Now its connected well only do the following steps:
On Visual Studio 2003,
1. Connect to device, Tools -> Connect to Device -> Pocket PC Device -> Connect.
The message "Device Connected." shown. But I select Smart Phone Device it couldn't be connected.
2. Now I ran the application with selecting Smart Phone Device. Yeah It runs and works well.
Next one is i tried to open Registry Viewer thru EVC++ 4.0. EVC also replied device can not be connected.
Now i tried the above steps.
1. Tools -> Registry Viewer ->select Pocket PC Device -> Connect.
It connects well and i can view the registry viewer.
But that device (Dopod) connects with VS 2005 and i can run smart device application thru Smart Phone Device. It needs not to follow the above steps.
I could not understand how it is possible
I have smart phone device but i could connect thru Pocket PC Device option.
Please send your suggestion or links...
Note: My Smart Phone (Dopod) resolution is 240x320.
Thanx.

Try installing compact framework first via ActiveSync.

Hi,
I tried what you said. But it didn't work. Now i'm going to explain briefly. I've installed VS 2003 and 2005 with CF 1.0 and 2.0 in my system and i installed ActiveSync 4.2. I can run compact framework applications in other devices (O2 smart phone, Voq smart phone, Vodafone PPC, T-Mobile PPC) without complications. But now i couldn't run in the new device Dopod smart phone. Why i couldn't run in that device Is there any setting changes in VS 2003 and 2005 Please send your suggestion or link.
Thanx.

Maybe your device is locked or you don't have certificates for the device.

Maybe your Dopod is being marketed as smart phone application but in reality it is a pocket pc device. Way to check is if you can use touch screen than it is PPC else it is SP. SP does not support touch screen.
