When I specify a failover partner on the connection string for a smart device and run the program I get the following error:
"Unknown connection option in connection string: failover partner."
Is the failover partner not supported by Compact Framework or am I typing wrong

I don't believe it is. You might be able to use exception handling to switch to another server instead.
