Beta of Microsoft Certification Exam 70-540

  • Felipe Heidrich

Well It's finally February 2007 and I've waited more than TWENTY WEEKS for the results of my 70-540 exam.

Are we going to get them any time soon

For the time we get our certification, devices with Windows Mobile 6 are going to be shipping.... LOL

    Hi Howard,

Now that's a bummer. Guess I should stop checking my exam history on Vue everyday ;-)

I assume the delay in results would also apply to 70-500 as it looks like its beta period has also been extended

    Cheers

    Hi Howard,

Is there any particular reason why results for the first round of 70-500 and 70-540 beta's can't be released now

    Cheers
    Jeff

Another fortnight passes and still no update.

I have lodged a support call with MS Australia, who btw also have no idea what's going on, to try and get an update.

Not holding my breath though :-)

I took this exam back on September 14, 2006. The concluding remarks on the exam said that it would be six weeks before I receive my score report. It's now November 17 (Vista download day -- yay!). Has there been any updates on when scores might become available Am I wrong to expect them before 2007

Because we extended the beta period for this exam, the live date looks more like late Februrary (2007) at this point. As with all betas, your score will be available at that point. Terribly sorry for the delay.

    thanks,

    Hi Jeff,

We just finished (as in, this last week) the round of meetings where we determine the minimum passing scores. I don't have the exact date in front of me at the moment - but the live exam (and your scores) should be released very soon. I'll post an announcement on my blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/howard_dierking/) when the release happens. If it would make life easier by not having to check this thread, just subscribe to the rss and you'll see when it happens.

    thanks,

    _howard

Hi Jeff - this delay is also true of 70-500

    thanks,

    Hi Jeff,

The reason that the scores for the mobility betas cannot be released at the moment is that the final passing score is based in part on a statistical analysis of the beta results. As you can see then, it's a sort of circular problem.

    Hope that provides some clarity.

    thanks,

    _howard

    Hi Howard,

Any update on when 70-540 and 70-500 beta results will be released

    Cheers
    Jeff

Hi Jeff - sorry for the delay in responding. At the risk of sounding like a completely broken record here, I looked at the latest release date and it says that 540 is supposed to release at the end of this month. I am currently looking into what is going on in the development process to cause the delay and will let you know if absolutely anything changes.

    thanks for hanging in there.
