Hi ..I was building a .net project by using vs2003 smoothly..I could deploy the solution on my
Datalogic smart-device ; everything (including active-sync ) was perfect..
But 2 days ago, took the smart device away from the craddle while the project was still deploying. Since that time, I can't deploy my project on the smart device..I have tried installing windowsCeAddOnv1.1, installing ports.reg, deleting desktop crypt; uninstalling activeSync, and also reinstalled the vs2003.
I still cannot deploy the solution on the smart device ; although I can connect to the device by active-Sync..
Please help immediately..I'm 2 days behind my schedule already...

I discovered that the problem must be about the smart device.. Because tried deploying by using another pc; the result was just the same..That computer could also deploy the solution to the smart device before; please help..

"Error: Cannot establish a connection. Be sure the device is physically connected to the development computer."

Maybe one of the smart-device settings is not configured for the visual-studio or a file needed by visual studio-not active-sync- may be missing...As I've mentioned before, active-sync works successfully but the visual studio deployment does not..
SP2
The thing is, I tried deploying by using another Datalogic smart-device; surprisingly I was able
to deploy successfully. This shows the fact that problem may not be about visual-studio.. But this
is silly since the machine on which I cannot deploy the solution can connect to my computer ; can copy files into it by using Active-sync.. I've asked for help from regional techinal-support services of Datalogic here, but they offered me some silly solutions which will surely help nothing.
So I've thought there may be some people who has come up with this problem, now I'm looking for them...

The only way to get round this is to reboot.
Have you tried completely reseting the device.
Make sure you installed Visual Studio after ActiveSync so the proxyports are not affected

Have you tied "proxy port" fix (below) As to why this happens, most users change stuff but forget about it or don't believe it might have any effect. For example, if you reinstall AS, that would break VS deployment.

Yep, I am having the same problems too! I've tried it on 4 different PCs running visual studio.net 2003 and none of the debugging connection works with my PDA. I've even tried installing a fresh copy of VS.net and activesync and it still won't work. It's really annoying because I can navigate to the folders within the PDA but it just won't deploy during debug from VS.
All this was working a couple of months back, the only thing that I've changed on my system is the windows update, could that be what's affecting it
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Ambrose
