Very Beginner Question

I know that I can use Microsoft maps in my website, or my desktop application .

my Question is

Is it a must to be connected to the internet to use Microsoft Maps, or it can be cached, downloaded..etc

The 3D control maintains its own data cache, and it's possible for it to operate in a disconnected state. This would only be available if hosting in a managed application as you obviously couldn't get to the web site if you were disconnected.

If you are viewing the site and the network becomes disconnected, the 3D control will continue displaying data from the cache until the network becomes connected again.
