Hi I have some problems to deploy the .NetCF on a windows mobile 2003 second edition (4.2), I installed the .NetCf 2 SP1 on my computer, I've tried to install manually the cab files (NETCFv2.ppc.armv4.cab) under "...Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SmartDevices\SDK\CompactFramework\2.0\v2.0\WindowsCE\wce400", but when I run it. It displays
"The version of CF is not for this device"

The device has installed Win Mobile 2003 SE (smart phone) spanish, the device is a Benq P50 with an Intel PXA27x processor.
Vs 2005 English, WinXP Pro Spanish, Does the language matters

After several tries, I installed then file "NETCFv2.wce4.ARMV4.cab" located
"....Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SmartDevices\SDK\CompactFramework\2.0\v2.0\WindowsCE\wce400\armv4"
the installation send a warning message, but continues with the installation. This allos to run our Software on the divice with no problems.
That is interesting becasuse this file is for "wce4" not for "ppc

SmartPhone 2003 is not supported by NETCF V2.However, Benq P50 is not a SmartPhone but PPC Phone Edition. I've seen reports of this model been incompatible with NETCF V2 due to bug in the OEM OS image described in the link above. You should contact device manufacturer for OS update. If there's no update, you can't use it with NETCF V2.

NETCFv2.ppc.armv4.cab is a correct CAB for PPC 2003 SE. All Windows Mobile devices staring PPC 2002 are using ARM processors including ARM processors made by Intel (that’s right – not all Intel made processors are x86).
Some devices might have issues in the OS which might prevent NETCF from installing. Please see this:
