Problem Installing .Net CF

Hi,

I have an Acer N30 running Windows Mobile 2003 ( 4.2) and a Samsung S3C2410 processor. When I try and install the .Net CF I get the message below

"Microsoft .Net 2.0 failed to install on your device because the installation file is not intended for this version of the device"

I have tried both the first release of the CF and the service pack version and both give the same error.

I am almost 100% certain I am using the correct version of the setup file. Its the one found here

I am updated the ROM on the PPC and this made no difference.

I am using Active Syn 4.2.

Could someone please help as I have been trying to fix this for an entire day and still have made little progress,

The file I'm trying to install on the n30 is NETCFv2.ppc.armv4.cab (MD5: 2717eaaf2afe43fcd4ca7b62fef70de1).

It appears there's a bug in n30 OS implementation which prevents NETCF V2 installation on to it.

You might try NETCFv2.wce4.ARMV4.cab from NETCF V2 SP1 as a workaround though there’s no guarantee.

Your not using a Compressed CAB file are you (NETCFv2.wm.armv4i.cab)

These don't run on WM4.2 devices.

Same problem here Michael. I've upgraded the ROM in the n30 to 1.00.17 but still can't get .NET CF2.0 to install. Did you have any success
