I need to see in a superior level of detail, in 3D view, a city with a few mounts... ( I don't need buildings, just the terrain )
But everything that is at a certain distance from the camera looses quality (geometric detail level and image quality). I know this is done in order to increase render speed, to save memory and bandwidth... but I need more quality, and I'm ready to pay the cost.
Is there a workaround to increase the quality, someone knows a website, parameter, anything that might help me please
I need it, even if it takes quite a long time to display one single image. I need excellent quality.
Thanks in advance!

Newbie. I want to enhance the image quality.

Yes John, you're right: My question was quite ambiguous, but your information was very useful too.
Thanks a lot!

ps: If anybody knows anything re the undocumented function, please let me know. Thanks.-

Ah ok i read your post too quickly, an image is worth a thousand words.
Yes Duncan would be the best person to answer this. I thought you were looking for greater detail then what is there not greater detail in the whole scene.
I can see why the team did this, otherwise when you zoomed out and tilted you would need to download GB of data.

Well, that little snapshot is New Mexico.-
And... no, I don't want to print the images. My application will be just a typical Virtual Earth application, with higher detail levels (using C++ managed code, yes).
Now that I've read your post, I'm starting to download webcasts and browsing related pages to find those yet un-documented functions...
Thank you!

Hi Albert,
Have you taken a look at the following Blog: http://heptazane.spaces.live.com/
That blog includes some description and code snippets related to the currently unsupported use of the map control in a managed application.

Albert,
The VE control is very powerful and flexible. If you have access to highly detailed imagery you can host your own tile servers to be overlayed on the control.
You can provide tiles upto zoom level 32 (approximately .03mm/pixel).
The willing to pay part is you need to get the images of the city you're after, break them into georeferenced tiles and host them on a fast server.
If decided to go ahead with your project I'd be very interested to see the results.

There is no way from script to change the detail level that is visible. If you're developing with managed code, it's possible, but not yet documented.
As you guessed, the level of detail reduction is for performance reasons. I'm curious what your scenario is. Do you want the highest possible quality for a printout You won't be able to get interactive framerates if you don't do some level of detail drop-off.

Can I increase the quality of elements that aren't near to the Point of view
See the picture, and you'll understand what I need to know...

I can't find a simple way to enhance the quality of the "far" elements.
Thank you!
