Windows Live Problems, Signing in not working

I've followed both links provided - both links seem to take me to the same menu of help options and I followed the recommended steps under 'Why Can't I Sign In ' and it did not help. I'm having the same trouble on all three machines I use, one running IE6 and the other two running IE7. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I do not work for Microsoft but I was having the same issues. I got around it by deleting all my cookies and temporary internet files. Then I could get to my email through the Hotmail login.

I am glad that I saw your messages. I quit using Windows Live for that very reason. I was about to sign up again in hopes that the issues had been fixed but seeing that you message is only a few days old, I think I will wait.

When I install Windows live messenger and try to run it it doesn't start up properly and after twenty minutes loading up I try to close it and have to force its termination. It gives me the error code too. Anyone know how I can solve this

I had the same exact problem. New Years Day it started working. I tried for 8 days to get it to work and sent message to tech support. I even sent a message that several friends had the same experience. Hotmail/MSN won't fess up to this problem on this, not sure why but at least it works now. I plan on using my gmail account more but don't feel alone something was going on here and MSN won't tell us.

I was having a tough time logging in to my hotmail account for the last week of Dec. On January 1st, it starting working. I think this is an upgrade issue but not sure. Anyone else having the same issues I have asked Microsoft several times to let me know what happened. I spent several hours each day trying to sort it out. I wasn't sure what emails and faxes I had on that email address.

I hardly couldn't read my hotmail too.
By accident my computer crashed so I had to buy new hard disks. The shop owner adviced me to upgrade from windows 2000 to windows XP. I still experienced problems but after upgrading to Internet Explorer 7 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx
it works maybe even beter then the old version.

    Hope this helps someone out.

hi there, i hope this helps:

    1. u need to delete all cookies and files in the folder internet temporary files, to do that go to tools - internet options in internet explorer and click in delete cookies. same in files. Do this and restart the browser.

    2. check in the the status bar if you have a little icon with an alert sign. this indicates that you probably are blocking the all access to www.hotmail.com or www.msn.com. To resolve this go again to tools - internet options, select security tab and make sure this sites are not included inthe restricted sites.

it worked for me, hopefully this resolve your issue. see you around.

I recently got a new computer that came with the new windows vista. However, when I downloaded and installed MSN LIVE Messenger, I can't sign in.

A message appears that states msn live messenger has stopped working. Is this just a network problem or is it me Is it because Vista is so new that noone knows how it works with other programs

    I need help

Been Having loads of trouble, like a lot of folks. No details in log in screen, constantly closing messenger if i so much as look at it.I tried installing an old 6.2 version which worked fine till i logged on, then i was informed that if i did not upgrade to the dead messenger i could not proceed. I installed the up grade. Back to dead messenger. Really frustrating. Is there an alternative to messenger that actually works .

I get exactly the same fault (intermitantly though) getting the following message :-

"The Windows Live Network is unavailable from this site for one of the following reasons:

    • This site may be experiencing a problem
    • The site may not be a member of the Windows Live Network

    You can:

    • You can sign in or sign up at other sites on the Windows Live Network, or try again later at this site."

Where do we find the addresses of the 'Other sites'
