Device not connected

Hello every one!

i am very new to Windows Mobile development. My problem is, I am unable to deploy files from my Visual Studio 2005 to my WIndows mobile based Pocket PC. When i run any Pocket PC application on Emulators, it works fine, but when i choose to test on device, then VS says device not connected where as, the Device is connected through Active Sync ver 4.1.

I have I-mate JAMin as my Pocket PC, i am using the 90 days trial version that comes with Windows mobile resources Kit DvD.

and above all, i am a total NEWBIE in WIndows mobile world.

Waiting for your kind answers.

Thanks for your time!

Regards!

    1. have you tried reinstalling ActiveSync

    2. have you considered moving to AS 4.2

    3. are there any other error messages have you application unlocked the device, which I believe is necessary with that particular smartphone

Yes i have reinstalled that many times but no effect, my device has compact framework 2.0 installed. I downloaded the 4.2 version and tried with it, but still no effect. Also, i dont get any error message except device not connected. So please suggest me what should i do now

I've worked with a number of HTC devices (your I-mate is just a rebranded HTC Prophet) but never yours in particular ... you might try looking here:

yes, you were right! the navigation is really tricky, anyways, i managed to get to those registry values, and then followed your first link, but my device is still unlocked (Even after reboot) and the lock checker on that post also saying that the device is locked. Then i tried your second link of WIKI, but the auto setup present there is not working there as Window poping the error: Not a valid win32 application. So what should i do now and are you sure it is a device unlocking issue

Thanks for all the help that you have provided so far though.

when you set your build output to verbose, does the build window provide any additional information I suspect you need to application unlock the phone:

are you certain it's not showing you all the entries the navigation may be a little funny ...
