Visual Studio 2005 and Mobile 5.0

Hi there,

i've installed "Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK.msi", and supposely it would include some sort of plugins for VS2005.

However, in VS, on smart device's projects, i only have:

- pocket pc 2003

- smartphone 2003

- windows CE 5.0

Also, on "Device Emulator Manager", i also only see these emulators...

Do i need to install something else

Tnks

    Hi there,

    finally i found the problem.

During the installation of the SDK, in the end i got the following message:

"No Script Engine for file extension .VBS"

So i googled it, and found this software:

Windows Script 5.6 for Windows XP and Windows 2000

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx FamilyId=C717D943-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en

After installing this, and reinstaling the SDK, it worked Smile

Nelson, should installation indeed run without problems we would not be having this little chat and you would be using templates and emulators just fine, right

So obviously installation was not OK even though it did not hang. That’s because your anti-malware silently blocks the script instead of waiting forever and handing the installation. Result and solution are the same though.

Ok, i didn't see the link you put...

Well, i've read it, but i don't think that something is blocking the installation, because the install runs with no problems...

Nelson, are you running on Windows Vista If so, there is another known issue, where setup succeeds but the templates don't install. The solution is to launch the install as an elevated user.

    Hi there,

sorry for the late reply, but i have been busy, and in fact, i still haven't tried your suggestions, that is, trying to run the SDK without any anti-virus or anti-spyware or similar programs...

As soon as i try it, i will give you my feedback...

    Thanks
