i cannot find anywhere to enable mic boost in vista, im running soundmax integrated sound off of a asus p5vdc-x motherboard. Even when i open up the driver control panel for the sound there is not option to enable it, when i opened this in xp there would be an option

sorry guys i don't speak english very well.
i found this to boost your mic. i don't have the same motherboard (msi p965 neo) but i will say to you what i do to boost my mic.
go to control panel, sound, select the second option (record), clic on your mic and properties, select the second option (level), and you have microphone ampli or amplified, something like this, put this option to +30.0 dB and your mic will be amplified.
