Downloading RC 4 or RC 5

Hi Guys

I am relatively new to WWF, so apollogies if this question has been asked.

Need to download the WWF, My box currenlty has VS.NET 2.0 and SQL server 2005 on it. The box has a project on it that i am currently working on. I wanted to ask in order to get started what version of WWF should I download. is it RC 4 or RC 5 , also on the download page in the microsoft I also came across that .NET framework 3.0 would be required.

I definitely dont want to have problems with my Current 2.0 project as this has been running for a while, after i download RC4 or RC5.

would appreciate your advise.

Thanks

Sweety.

Please use WF as an abbreviation for Windows Workflow Foundation, not WWF.  RC5 of WF is the latest build and unless you have a specific need to for a previous build, like you are using an earlier version of Office 2007 beta, should be the one that is installed.  Links to where you can download the lastest build can be found here.

    Thanks for replying.

What i meant by VS.NET 2.0 , that i have vs2005 2.0 framework currently loaded in my box.

When i google on WWF i get pages on downloading RC4 , RC3, RC5. I also came across a page in which it specifies to download Extensions for Windows Workflow Foundation Beta 2.2

My criteria is to get started with WWF with vs2005 so should i go for Beta 2.2

If yes, Then why would people go for RC4,3,5 etc..

Is the above release candidate version 3.0,4.0,5.0 for vista, Would they work for VS 2005.

    Just a little confused.

    Could you please guide me.

    Thanks

    Sweety

If it was me, and I had a project that mattered on the machine, I would not install any RC stuff.

The safest approach would be to install it on a separate machine that you don't depend on for anything else. A virtual machine may be a good choice.

Since you are starting from scratch there seems no reason to go with RC4 - get the latest.

At a minimum you will need the .NET framework 3.0 Release Candidate. You may also need "VS 2005 extensions for Windows Workflow Foundation". See the download page for links to these.

You need Visual Studio 2005 (not sure what "VS.NET 2.0" is).

Here are the steps I took to get update my Virtual PC such that I was ready to start learning about Windows Workflow Foundation .
I already had Visual Studio 2005 and SQL 2005 installed on a VPC instance. From there, I downloaded and installed
.net framework 3.0 Release Candidate from
    and then downloaded and installed
Visual Studio 2005 Extensions for Windows Workflow Foundation RC5
I then downloaded and installed the Hands-on Labs for WindowsR Workflow Foundation Release Candidates from
I have started blogging about my experiences with the Workflow Foundation Labs. If you are interested, my live space is http://standardreally.spaces.live.com
