1. AVG Free Virus scan will not properly boot up on start-up

2. After PC loads up, a splash screen appears that says "This system is not authorized to run DISCover"
(What is DISCover, and how can i make this go away/fix the problem.

3. When signed into my Windows Live Messenger account choose to see my emial the browser seems to auto-refresh the Windows Live Mail loading screen every 1second making it immposible to load and check my mail.

Those are my three questions, help would be greatly appreciated.

Problems with Vista

It has been 3 weeks since the Vista release.
Does anyone share the same problems as me, mainly,
    WHAT IS (DISCover)

  • Ryan Frazier - MSFT

Yes it was an upgrade from Windows XP Media Centre.

  • zoomer

My suggestion is to uninstall and re-install the software and see if the problem disappears.

You need to create another user account as a standard user. when the computor boots choose the administrator account to log on. this will aliminate the unauthorized mode for all programs. without a second user account Windows Vista does not recognize you as an administrator.

You need to go web for upgrade software AVG with the new version to support windows VISTA...that's working..

    Good luck...

But Windows Vista don't need to put anti virus software... go to up date Windows download Windows Defender ...It's Ok!.

Welcome to the club! I too am getting DISCover message. Have you received and solutions

I also use AVG and had a problem. I just did a uninstall and then reinstalled 7.5

I've not heard of DISCover, but a quick live.com search shows a DISCover (Digital Interactive Systems Corporation) which has something to do with games. Was your machine an upgrade from XP media center

I still do not have a solution to the "DISCover" problem.

But on a better note the Windows Live Mail (Hotmail) sign-in problem was fixed shortly after i posted my first remarks.
I also reinstalled AVG and it seems to be working well.

Does anyone have a solution to our problems

    Thanks,
    Pat.

I believe I have found a solution to the DISCover issue, I went into C:\Program Files\ DISC folder and clicked on the uninstall icon. By uninstalling it it gets rid of the blue "This system is not authorized to run DISCover" message.
