After install, you have it all out of the box without buying/downloading applications and stuff. it's all out of the box so when you're installation is ready, it is really ready.
No need for downloading/buying dreamweaver, Nero, Photohop, Rippers, office, Winamp, codecs etc. etc. Appz to get thing done are all included.
When I would go back to Vista now, I wouldn't feel satisfied, like being on an old OS which lacks technology that can be used in 2006.
I really wasted my time testing RC1 and RC2 etc.
I'm on windows since MS-DOS, I know it inside out, it all begun with the fact that I don't buy a complete PC because I upgrade my own PC's once in a while so you don't get a newer OS when you buy a new motherboard etc.
I'm not going to spend 300 EURO for an OS which delivers Wordpad and Paint like Win98 already does, so my only alternative was to look elsewhere...
Now I found out that windows is FAR behind with all things you can imagine so I'm glad I can't afford Vista or I wouldn't have found out what is way ahead of MS.

Really wasted my time with MS products all these years

Seriously, why do you want an OS that takes 3 seconds to close a window I even think XP minimize window takes too long. I want it gone in 1/10 second. Not too fast to hurt my eyes either. And 3D desktop is really really stupid IMO. Besides Vista trying to show off, that 3D desktop feature is useless.
The only thing I want the most is a secondary desktop that switch over when my mouse go over the left screen. I can instandly change desktop when someone rush in my room. I am pretty sure a lot of people will find that useful, wink.
Well, XP has build-in CD burnning program, just that I don't like those mount unmount behavior. But if they include better paint, or CD burnning program, they sure are prepared for law suits from those companies selling the same product. Anyway, there is an open source software call Pain .Net, I kind of hope they can include that in Vista.

That is some really cool eye-candy. I have also seen what XGL can do. Quite a few demos on YouTube.

If you want that kind of eye-candy then vista is probably not what you want and should go with this or something else.

Yeah, but the MS OS still has the best available software.
Check this out though:

Pretty cool eyecandy. Virtual Desktops are irritating anyway, in my opinion.
