IE7 dropdown menu crash

I work on a web based application, and in IE7 when an HTML dropdown menu is selected, the application crashes with the following message:

Unhandled exception at 0x01acfdf9 in iexplore.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0xfb087e8e.

This crash does not happen using any other version of IE. Any ideas Thanks!

    just to bump this - I also get this problem, across vista reinstalls (xp install + vista upgrade, and plain vista install)

    it occurs, as far as I can see only on ajax'd dropdowns.
