Hi all,
I have bin experiencing some problems with IE7 on Win Vista Business Edition.
I seems like web pages that contain flash animations are not displayed properly. Here are the images of the MS Home page:
http://unclezen.com/Documents/ie_maximized_window.gif
http://unclezen.com/Documents/ie_maximized_window_w.gif
Interestingly enough this is how the same page looks when the same window is restored:
http://unclezen.com/Documents/ie_restored_window.gif
http://unclezen.com/Documents/ie_restored_window_w.gif
Two more examples:
http://unclezen.com/Documents/ie_maximized_dell_home_page.gif

As well, any other action like moving the mouse over an link will cause the window to flicker.
Video Adapter: ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300.
Any ideas
Thanks!

having the same problem here
vista business and ati mobility radeon x300.
on a clean install everything works fine, but whenever windows updates the ati drivers the flickering starts.
i've then tried the ati vista beta drivers, they did the same.
yesterday i installed the final 1.7 catalyst drivers, and the flickering stays :(
hopefully there is somebody who has an answer to this and a solution.

good news everyone
ati finally found what they were doing wrong with their drivers, and the new catalyst release (catalyst 7.2) works perfect !!!!

I am having the same problem now with the upgrade version of Vista Home Premium (clean install), as I did with the Beta RC2 version of Vista Ultimate....screen flickering within IE7! I too have a ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300 and immediately after the install, everything was great until auto updates take place and then then the "flickering" begins, especially prevelant with flash ads on the screen in IE7.
Help! This is driving me crazy!

Yes, the new catalyst release (catalyst 7.2) seems to be the answer to this problem. After I installed Catalyst 7.2 (http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/vista32/common-vista32.html) flickering went away.
Thanks!

Looks like my flicker problem has been resolved! I'll post back later if somehow the problem returns (I spoke too soon once, but this time I think this is substantial.)
Many many thanks for keeping an eye out on behalf of the community on this one!

Ok, I had this problem aswell, The exact problem that you guys are having, The flickering was unbearable, Installed netscape and all was fine.
I reinstalled windows vista for other reasons, When i reinstalled i was offered a load of updates 1 of which was the ati driivers WDDM, so i decided not to install this and checked download.com to see if the flickering had stopped and it had.
So blame the WDDM drivers 110%.
Just an hour or so ago i was curious to see what happened when i installed the Ati catalyst software from the Ati website, And guess what THE FLICKERING WAS BACK, God damn it! I just done a system restore and all was ok
My card is an ATI Radeon X300 Hyper Memory
---------
What i would do if your not wanting to reinstall again is go into Device manager and uninstall the WDDM drivers and see if that help.
Hope this helps guys
