  That new release for both XP and Vista are available at the website above. Among the changes I made were to "Vista-ize" the X-button and then I realized I wanted more. Right clicking on a selected tab will result in the presentation of an exit context menu item. There are also always database updates.

  Where can you get an Access database

  There are APIs for the creation of Access Databases. KnowledgeNavigator comes with a template database and all you have to do is File | New Database and it will create a new one for you, for you to fill as you see fit.

  Not at all, please. KN is written in VB.Net.

  It's not hard to save data in SQL or Access. Often I use many of the same persistance routines with both types of database.

  Thank you. I've made so many application icons I rather forget but I remember this one. I made it with photoshop. The is an Aussie who has a photoshop icon plugin and he'd appreciate a $5.00 donation through paypal. he can easily be found by googling photoshop + icon.  I think the little abstractions were made with Imageready. And there is another aspect. The icon is actually several icons od several sizes and the final multi-sized output was processed by a prgram from VBAccelerator called AlphaIconCreator. It's simple and wonderful!  You start with a working frame that's large( a binary multiple of the size icon you want and of the same prortions) and one that has a high resolution. 480 x 480 is good.

  Ok the other question is a biggy. Obviously each webBrowser/editor control has a lot of functionality and many states to manage.  It's a 23 page class. All of its internal controls are dynamic and the class is basically a tabpage so the class is instantiated and added to the tabpage collection of the tabcontrol.

  I am so gald you have found it useful and I intend to add updated databases.  Many of us are looking at the idea of an SQL version with an SQL server on the net for a large collective knowledgebase.

  And yes you are right about the X control. That's on my things to do list.

  I use KN almost exclusively on these fora. It's perfect for navigating around in them and I'm writing this to you on it right now.

  Yes it does. It also has the ability to create and open new empty databases with your own theme.

  Yes, and this is why I chose an Access database. Because it is portable.

  Yes, a VB.NET application can connect and use that database.

  It's much better in this area. But the webBrowser has regressed a bit. I'm having trouble balancing "no popups" and recognizing everything that is desirable. The Browser Class I made is about thirty pages long and it's quite complex with lots of states. Given that I don't know everything there is to know about popup detection that there is to know, recognizing what is desirable content and what is not really is a challenge. I have yet to find a way to entice my friend Andreas into launching into that. I have found good testing grounds to be cbsnews.com, cbsnew.com(popup-rich) and vanishingpoint.com to be great testing grounds. You will find new options under tools for for popups. I still have work to do on that.

  I really appreciate that you like the concept and that you are willing to download new revisions. There's a lot of love in piece of software and I'd really like to get it working consistently with it's vision.

  Yes, if you do not mind a compliment. That correspondence was about how to talk to an Access database.

  What would be the API call to create an Access database for my "Insignificant application" Probably this is way over my head. There would be no Visual Studio template, no VB facility to define the tables, no TableAdapter, no DataBindings....in other words, nothing what would make the life of a totally newbie easier

  "These documents and categories are contained in one central and transportable database, a database that you can send to friends and share with them or a database that contains all the documentation for a project, or better a set of in-depth topic on wine or even recipes."

  I suppose you are inferring that there is the possiblity to separate the data from "KN" and opening it in an other instance of "KN" That is what I mean :-)
