Windows XP already comes or has available network security. What with windows live update, defender, firewall, and security center everything is covered. I was told that security center has virus protection, so I removed my copy of McAfee. Security Center then said I had no virus protection. It offered a link to fix this, but it was so busy, I couldn't get through the site. I wound up downloading and purchasing a security center from download.com. I know that security center has virus control because it automatically downloaded a virus update from microsoft. My problem is how do you set it to do this. There is no switch saying 'download virus update' or autmatically download my virus update.

There are many sites that handle network security but that is not the starting point. First you need to define what security you need, what are your attack surfaces, what are your users doing, what do they need to do and probably a lot more before anyone can recommend a security consultant/company.

I looked at the infolocktech site briefly and they seem to identify the same threats I am aware of but I see nothing special with their services.

For instance, the windows autoplay feature in combination with a USB memory stick is a very easy way to infect a system and some companies solved it by filling the USB ports with foam (or something to deny physical access).

My recommendation is to make a specification of your network and then ask the question what is not good, if you do it in public, don't reveal your IP! :)
