We are seeing an issue where Offer Remote Assistance breaks after Internet Explorer 7 is installed. The error message generated is "Remote Assistance failed. Please try again."
Has anyone seen this And, does anyone know how to resolve it
Thank you, in advance.

Thank you for the information. I have removed this as an answer to my question, but understand that the question cannot be answered here.
Furthermore, Microsoft has confirmed that Offer Remote Assistance is broken and have stated that the issue will be resolved in the final release. This information might be useful to anyone programming the use of said feature in IE.
Thank you, again.

Hi guys,
I was having the same problem as well with adding it to the Favorites (WinSP2, IE7 RC1).
The only workaround I could come up with was to create a new shortcut (on the desktop) from scratch and copy the path that John Dion mentions above. (hcp://CN=Microsoft%20Corporation,L=Redmond,S=Washington,C=US/Remote%20Assistance/Escalation/Unsolicited/UnSolicitedRCUI.htm) and paste it in the location field. Name it "Offer Remote Assistance" whatever... and...
I can now successfully open the shortcut and use the Offer Remote Assistance as I did with IE6.
Hope that helps.

im afraid these forums are for software development with IE and it appears your question does not fit here. The best place to ask would be the appropriate IE communities:

Hey guys... I recently experienced the same problem you are experiencing with regards to Remote Assistance. I recently installed IE 7 RC 1 and lost the option to offer Remote Assistance. After doing some research, I found that there is a quirk that will allow the program to work properly.
Cick Start/Search. In the Address bar type hcp://CN=Microsoft%20Corporation,L=Redmond,S=Washington,C=US/Remote%20Assistance/Escalation/Unsolicited/UnSolicitedRCUI.htm
This is the same as clicking a shortcut for "Offer Remote Assistance" but for some reason, it only seems to work this way. I figured this out by accident, but I'm glad I did. Feel free to write with questions... jxd13@health.state.ny.us
