Problem with WDS 3 beta 2 indexing locations

After installing WDS 3 beta 2 everything seemed to be working as expected. However after a few days I noticed that WDS was no longer indexing documents and settings. When I looked under indexing options, included locations, the only item present was Outlook 2007. I thought this was strange as I knew that documents and settings were definitely being indexed before, and that there was an entry under excluded locations for application data; default user, when I last checked, which had obviously also disappeared. I then clicked on modify and re-selected the missing locations and clicked OK, WDS then re-indexed and all seemed fine....for a day or two, then these locations disappeared again! This time I clicked on restore defaults, clicked OK, restarted and let the index be rebuilt. Once again after a couple of days all locations except for Outlook had unchecked themselves and were no longer being indexed! Has anyone else been having this problem Does anyone know how to fix this problem, and get WDS to index the selected locations so I dont need to rebuild my entire index every couple of days

There have been numerous threads about this issue and no responses from Microsoft. Guess all we can do is post more information and wait for a refresh. The Microsoft guys must be under the gun to get a release out and are likely busy, but hopefully they are reading these posts and will fix this issue.

Here's a bug you can probably easily reproduce in house: The WDS 3 "options", advanced tab appears to offer the option to change the location for storing the index, but when you enter a new location, it doesn't actually change anything-- WDS continues to store its index in the same location. How can we make this work Thank you.

As stated above, we've seen a few posts about this issue. We've made several changes to the product since the release of beta 2, but we've been unable to determine if the problem has been fixed because we are unable to reproduce it in-house.
