    jefferson = and others,

    send the link that has the explanation on how to remove this WDS thing. do not send the trail or test scenarios. we have no time for trails or testing. why is it not as easy to remove as it is to install the WDS developers writing the WDS code should know this. right

    Oh my gosh! It is driving me nuts. I have done 4 system restores going back in time. I sure wish I never, never would have downloaded the toolbar. I have deleted the toolbar in the add/remove programs without success. I sure hope someone figures it out.

    Dear Lovealotnana, I get this same message so pls help if you have got a solu tion to it.

    I have tried the MSI Cleanup tool in an attempt to get rid of this message. When I look in add/remove programs, neither the MSN Toolbar nor Windows Desktop Search are showing. I have also run a virus scan, a scan from spybot as well as the Installer Cleanup program. I have gone in to search for any files that contain the word "toolbar" and deleted every one that looked like it was associated with this program. I have become a woman obsessed with attempting to get this thing off my computer....if anyone can help free me of this obsession, please help!!

    Hi Tweed,

    What version of the Toolbar and WDS are you running It makes a difference as to how to best remove them.

    Let me keep digging about how to uninstall Toolbar, but for WDS try looking in the Additional Information section of this doc...

    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows/search/dtsguide.mspx

    hope this helps!

    Hi Marilyn/Babysox,

    When you used the MSI Cleanup tool, did it complete successfully (with no errors)   When you go to Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel, do you see either MSN Toolbar or Windows Desktop Search

    Also do you know what version you were using previously, before the upgrade

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    For the Toolbar, I did see a lot of posts on this with a few different suggested fixes at:

    http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx query=%23msntb_toolbar_full_name%23&dg=&cat=en_US_d02fc761-3f6b-402c-82f6-ba1a8875c1a7&lang=en&cr=&pt=&catlist=&dglist=&ptlist=&exp=&sloc=en-us

    Some involved editing the registry others did not. I'd start with the one's that dont.

    I hope this helps!

    Jeff
