Problems with libraries being displayed on Quick Launch bar

I have tried to change the doc libraries that are displayed on the Quick Launch on the TFS sharepoint but it is inconsistent at best. Checking/unchecking the button in "modify columns" does not work on built- in item. When a built-in item was removed through Visual Studio, all of the libraries disappeared from Quick Launch except Project Management.

Problems with libraries being displayed on Quick Launch bar

Has anyone had any luck sorting the reports not appearing problem I can't believe modifying the site from inside Visual Studio does this, because it means that I'll be constantly repairing the site whenever a user changes it.

We've encountered the same problem.  Is there any way to restore the quick launch bar   I tried using FrontPage to fix them but even if the web part is repopulated the links don't appear on the rendered page.  Since we can't restore an individual project from backup this makes the issue bigger.

We have tried to reset the doc libraries to appear on the menu and it doesn't work.

The problem began when someone deleted document libraries "Requirements" and "Security" while they were inside Visual Studio.

We had limited success adding items with Frontpage but once they are listed it is impossible to change them (on --> off --> on) by way of the regular method (modify columns and settings...general settings).

In addition to no libraries on Quick Launch, the Reports list ended up being blank, too.

There seems to be some link between modifying sharepoint contents while in Visual Studio.

To modify what appears on the Quick Launch menu in SharePoint, you can either modify it in FrontPage or set the property for each doc library or list to appear in the menu.

It seems there is more going on here than in a standard SharePoint link bar. I used a freshly created project site for comparison.

When I looked at the Quick Launch bar in FrontPage 2003 on the problem site, all of the Link Bar components were missing, the Documents links perhaps because the associated document library was removed from the former site using Team Explorer.

When I then insert new empty Link Bars using FrontPage, a style must be chosen. When I look for the appropriate style in the freshly created project, it appears that no style available in FrontPage is chosen at all on the standard TFS site link bars. So it appears that the style is not one that FrontPage understands or has available.

Regarding the document library properties, when you look at the Quick Launch properties in each of the Document Libraries in the freshly created TFS project site, there are two libraries with links on the Quick Launch that have the Navigation property set to No by default: Requirements and Security. Toggling this setting between No and Yes and back to No has no effect on the Quick Launch links, they are still there. Other libraries work as advertised in this setting.

The bottom line, I can recreate links to new or remaining Document Libraries in a new link bar but the style is not the same. Not a big deal really, this is good enough.

Another issue is restoring the Reports links. Of course, there is no document library for Reports. When I look at the links in a new project they appear to be relative, but when I replace them the links must be invalid because they never show on the link bar. The URL in a Reports item looks like:

    _layouts/tfsredirect.aspx IsReport=1&ReportName=Bug+Rates&ShowToolbar=1

When I paste this into a link bar item in a corrupted site it never appears on a refreshed web page. Is there any way to recover these links accurately
