Window Installer 3.1 error while installing from CD

I downloaded the .img file of Visual Web Developer 2005 Express, extracted the files usinG ISOBuster and then ran the setup.exe file. I am logged in as Administrator on Windows XP Professional. At the end of the installation I get this:

The following component failed to install
X - Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1

The following components were not attempted
X - Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
X - Microsoft Visula Web Developer 2005 Express Edition - ENU
X - Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition x86

Please help!
