What’s the date/time stamp on evr.dll and dxva2.dll in your %windir%\system32 folder This should have a similar date/time stamp to milcore.dll and windowscodecs.dll. If it is not, please uninstall WPF, and manually delete evr.dll and dxva2.dll, and reinstall WPF.
I'm beginning to think my installation is hosed somehow. I'm not sure how that is though. I restored my laptop to factory configuration yesterday, installed vs, .net 3.0, .net3.0 sdk, orcas in that order. Then I immediately began working on my project and experiencing ide crashes. The orcas designer changes i mentioned in another post have come back, expression crashes upon closing the welcome screen. I cant tell whether my media element not playing is my fault or related to my hosed installation. Can you give me any insight on making sure i have a clean environment
P.S. i'm running wmp11. Also, the project im working on worked fine under vista (which i just reformatted to get rid of), so i dont think its the pc.
I looked at your install you didn't mention installing WIC (per section 2.1 of the readme).
I had to install WIC even on a fresh install leading me to believe that you have to install WIC regardless of whether or not you upgraded to the June CTP or installed it fresh. Look at the sticky at the top of this forum for more info.

Wrong, WMP11 doesn't work.
I had to roll back to v10 to get MediaElement to work

Wrong, I had WMP 11 before and then MediaElement didn't work, then i rolled back to v10(it's actually better than 11 anyway) and now it works perfect.
