How the let Studio 2005 break in source code if there is a C++ first-chance exception?

I am running my application from Studio 2005 and I can see the first-chance exception (C++), but it doesn't break anywhere in source code. As a result, I can't find out where is the place in my code cause the exception.

    I did check all menu items under debug when I have my project open. I couldn't see the Exceptions at all.

    I know the option exists in Visual Studio 6.0, but I couldn't find it on Visual Studio 2005.

    When you have the solution open, you'll have a Debug menu available. In that menu, there's an item called Exceptions... and if you select it, you'll get a dialog allowing you to configure when the debugger will break. If you check the Thrown check box for a particular group of exceptions, the debugger will break immediately when the exception is thrown.

    Thank you for the info. For some reasions, I can't see this option in debug menu. After I go to custom option to drag it under debug menu, I have this option now.

    You've probably accidently dragged the debug menu off by mistake, but as far as I know, there's no simple way to add it - you'll have to customize the IDE and add a new menu, rename the menu '&Debug' and add all the required items.

    To help with your particular problem though, the default shortcut for the exceptions dialog is Ctrl+Alt+E or alternatively, open up the command window and type Debug.Exceptions
