While troubleshooting I tried to ping the Xbox 360 and this always timed-out. (As mentioned in the documentation, and in the above link.) I can now successfully deploy a game to the 360 but the same machine will not receive a ping reply from the xbox, so that might not be a good diagnostic. (Should a computer be able to ping the xbox while it waits in the "Connect to Computer" state )
That troubleshooting tip is incorrect. The Xbox 360 is not expected to reply to a ping. We have entered a bug to update the online help (unfortunately, it is too late to update the integrated help).
The exact same thing worked for me as well. Just creating a new key and entering it into XNA Express fixed everything and my subsequent deploy worked great.
I'm also over 100% wireless for the time being, in the living room. I am using the Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter connected via 802.11a and my notebook PC connected 802.11g.
I meant to also include this link, since it has images and troubleshooting tips toward the end of the page.
Note that the most common problem is that you entered the key incorrectly while entering the connection settings in the Visual C# IDE. Please try creating a new key and re-entering. Some characters are hard to tell apart, particularly I and 1, and especially on standard-definition TVs. If you enter the wrong code, the connection attempt will time-out. Several other people have had to try two or three times to get it right.
The only issue I had when trying to connect was distinguishing between a 0 and O in the connection key, especially when there wasn't a O and 0 in the same key as that makes it more difficult when you can't compare them.
Re-entering a new connection key solved my timeout problem. While

Thanks for the help but I follow the instructions and still it did not work. I can stream music and video and pictures from the computer to the 360. So I dont understand why it did not work. I enter the conection key over 10 times but still I cant connect.
