  • AlexDav Document Library WebPart and Folder Navigation

Hi, I have created a Document Library and am using folders rather than columns for organization. This is largely because when users upload more than one document at a time they are not prompted to tag them with metatdata and then lose thier files amongst the existing documents. It is difficult for them to then find the documents and edit the properties after the fact. With this being said, it is more convenient for them to navigate to the appropriate folder and then upload the multiple documents. The one issue with navigating the folders is with the Document Library Web Part. I can't find a way for them to navigate up a directory. The "Up" button is no longer in the toolbar. The breadcrumbs don't work like they do if you ...Show All

  • nils49 Can't deploy webparts from VS2005 with Sharepoint extensions unless I am Administrator????

I have installed Sharepoint Services and Visual Studio 2005 Professional with the WSS extensions so that I can develop web parts. I have two users on the box, the Adminstrator and me (jstr) I have set my user account up to be a member of adminsitrators, and although the Administrator created the Sharepoint Site Collection, JSTR is listed as number two, and can do everything on the Sharepoint sites that the Administrator can. When I create a simple "Hello World" type web part, the web part deploys perfectly if I am logged in as Adminstrator. If I am logged in as JSTR, I get "no sharepoint exists at the specified URL". This is the same project just running out of two different logon accounts. I am baffled. I'd ra ...Show All

  • tnfemme Creating Assembly Plugins via Reflection

Question I am in the process of creating an application that uses plugins to provide business logic/operations. The application will look for specific named assemblies in the current directory and when found will instantiate a pre-specified interface from the assembly(ies) for stateful processing. My question is, are there any gotchas or anything that I should be aware of while undertaking this task Feedback concerning your experiance with reflection or plugins are helpful. Also debug issues and tricks that you have done. • doener O/R Mapping

O/R mapping is quite interesting.  I would like to post this question for discussion. I have the following classes: Employee, FullTimeStaff, PartTimeStaff, etc.  FullTimeStaff and PartTimeStaff have many attributes and behaviors in common and also many other unique attributes and behaviors.  So, FullTimeStaff inherits from Employee and PartTimeStaff also inherits from Employee. Do you think it is good to map both FullTimeStaff and PartTimeStaff to a single table called Employee (the table contains an extra field to identity whether he is full time or part time) in the database Hi Udi Perhaps I show you the code in my mind for your comment: Public Class StaffFactory Private m_ID As Integer Public Fu ...Show All

  • Alexie1668 RDF - Profile Manager

Hi Bala, Can we able get some samples for defining RDF Schemas to the requirement of stroing user details like First Name, Last Name, Address 1, Address 2 etc. It would be great if you provide us with some information about the SPARQL (Query language for RDF). I could able to get some information about this in http://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-sparql-query/  but when I tried to use same SELECT Query with the CSF Profile store we are getting the exception that "SELECT" keyword is not defined with CSF schema. I even tried to use the CONSTRUCT statement provided in the CHM file but when we tried to query with this we got lot number of records, In this regard how can we filter the queried records with a particular values that were passed. ...Show All

  • JonM VSeWSS

When can we expect the next release of VSeWSS I am getting the error mentioned in other places (blogs and newsgroups) where I can't build and deploy the same project twice (works the first time, errors out each time after). Hi I have setup a new MOSS site ... Question: Where could I find sample code using VSeWSS with web part property or tool part. I have some kind of rendering problem. If you aren't actually using anything in your web part that accesses something in a MOSS feature, the workaround is good enough -- just develop in a non-MOSS site and move it later. Otherwise, I think you are out of luck until the problem gets fixed in the next version. ...Show All

  • dr.grumbles Best practice using data types in data access layer?

Hi, Well, couldnt quite find a valid group - hopefully this one will do. Im using the web service factory application tool with great joy ( http://www.gotdotnet.com/codegallery/codegallery.aspx id=6fde9247-53a8-4879-853d-500cd2d97a83 ). But i have come up short looking for best practices about using (or not using) data types in the data access layer. The scenario: I have some service call that in standard way gets data. Data access layer working on business objects and the service returning the translated data types. Now theres the need for paging results. Thus I create some usefull data types for Paging. In this case a PagingIn and PagingOut data type (eg. the pagingout would hold the total number of pages etc). Now - is it " ...Show All
