  • Mongoose7 Object Modeling

I'm a bit of a newbie in diagramming/modeling. I've never had to do it with my job(s), so please bare with me here:) Ok, I know UML is the standard for Class Models. However, what is the standard for modeling runtime Objects Do I still use a Class Diagram to demonstrate the use of the objects The best example question I can relate my question to is, How is the DOM (Document Object Model) represented in a diagram My Object Model has very similar concepts to the DOM. Thank you in advance! excellent, thank you:) A couple of choices... use sequence diagrams or collaboration diagrams, collectively known as interaction diagrams (yes that's UML speak). Model the DOM as a single object on your diagram (even if it isn't in reality). ...Show All

  • Jamesx Sharepoint Portal Fixed Width?

I've had some success applying a .css to the Portal and specifying the fixed width. However, I would like the page to be centered in the browser. Any ideas I'm a newbie when it comes to Portal customisation but I'm trying... Have you tried creating a site collection with the Publishing Portal site template, or switching to a master page other than default.master (like BlueBand.master) They set a width of the main content of the page, and center that in the browser. You can start from those master pages or use their CSS patterns in your own master page. --George Perantatos [MSFT] Sorry George, you lost me when you started with 'Publishing Portal site template'. ...Show All

I have created a new MOSS 2007 portal, now I want to migrate document libraries and user and their permission from SharePoint 2003 to new portal in MOSS 2007. I only want to migrate document libraries and Users, not the complete portal. Can anyone tell me what are the steps that are required to migrate document libraries and user and their permission from SharePoint 2003 to new portal in MOSS 2007 Thanks, Bilal Bilial, In Beta 2 TR you had three options for upgrade Inplace, Gradual and database.  Database seems to have been dropped from the SDK so not sure if this is still a valid approach. However in your scenario, where you have the new MOSS 2007 setup already,  I would rec ...Show All

  • pblecha Modular application development

Hello... Being relatively new to large scale applicaton development I would like to ask if a) there is a simple way or b) there is a preferred way; to developing a modular application. What I mean by this is that I would like to create an base application which will be along the lines of a point-of-sale app. However, users can opt for (and pay extra for naturally!) additional "modules". For example, a reporting module, a stock control module, a restaurant module etc. Rather than simply creating separate application that interact, I wondered if VS2005 or the VB.NET 2.0 platform in general had a "perfect" solution to this hidden somewhere. Most importantly, the application needs the ability to be able to add a ...Show All

  • brettles doc lib column mapping to word?

Also referenced in the MS Office Word Team blog ( http://blogs.msdn.com/microsoft_office_word/archive/2007/01/18/xml-mapping-with-word-sharepoint.aspx ) this is simple enough to do, but one thing appears to be missing.... This can be implemented for custom metadata and a few defaults, however 'Version' (as in the version number created by doc libs) doesn't seem to be available Or am I missing something Surely this is one of the more important columns that users may wish to include in a document header. How can this be added /Andrew ...Show All

Hi Everybody, I have question which comes to mind of nearly everybody who is designing a webapplication in .net. I wish to store some user related data across the webpages in a Asp.net website.
