  I have installed Sharepoint 2007 (advanced), with Sql server 2005 on separate server. • moGun OTP: word deletion problem

  im using msoffice 2002 (xp). when im using ms word there is a problem occur. the problem is when i select the words and i try to delete the word then a message is appear in word status bar is "block delete no (yes)" when i press the ' y ' key then only the selected words or lines will be deleted it wont delete automatical. how to avoid the condition can u plz help. i think u would understand my problem.     Hi Have a query regarding using the Windows 2003 Network Load Balancing Service. My ISP provides Load Balancing functionality via there CISCO (Arrowpoint) Device. We were experiencing some problems with the Arrowpoint so during testing I installed the NLB service and got all my websites working to a tee I decided that this is perhaps the best way forward anyway as I had more control over adding and removing servers to the cluster, but none the less I decided to ask my ISP's advice as to which solution was the best.   This scenario is probably not officially supported or encouraged since it requires directly modifying your SharePoint content database...but it saved us a lot of time and I think can be useful if done carefully and properly. We have a list on our top-level site that contains one row for each Bid (Proposal) our company has submitted. The key field in this list is the Bid Number. We want the Bid Number to be available to other lists in the top-level site and in multiple sub-sites. The way we do this is to create a Site Column in the top-level site that is a Lookup field into the Bid Number field of the Bids list. • darkened-flame Restoring Share Point DB with a different Name

  Hi, I am trying to restore a Sharepoint DB with a different name. The MDF and LDF files are located in D:\SQL. In the restore opitons, I change the name of the MDF and LDF files and try to restore the DB with a different name. The restore fails saying.... The file 'D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\FTData\ix_Sharepoi1_SITE' cannot be overwritten. It is being used by database 'Sharepoi1_SITE'.   Hi, I am thinking about making a small call logging system to use on our Helpdesk. The Helpdesk system will be used to log client jobs. Work is then completed by Engineers, narrated (in the system), and then passed back to the helpdesk to follow up. Engineers will need access to this Helpdesk system from outside the company. Firstly, I am not really sure where I should start, so if you have, or know of, any online resources I could have a look at that would probably be good for a start.   Hello Experts, To reproduce this: Add a Application Definition (BDC) to the Shared Service provider. Set the appropriate Permissions. Add a Column to a Document Library which is of Type Business Data. Set this Column as required. Choose the Lob you added in Step 1. Open the Library and chosse 'New' to create a new Word-Document. Save the Document to the Library. The Meta-Data-Form will come up. You are not able to choose a Element from the LOB Column! 'Cause this Field is marked as required you have to write any content to it to save this Document. Once the Document has been saved, choose 'Edit Properties' on this Item.   I'm trying to figure out how to backup the Windows Sharepoint Services sites from the command line, but I am finding the documentation online to be lacking. here is the line I'm trying STSADM.EXE -o backup -directory Z:\Internal Operations\Information Technology\Backup\SharePoint\BackupFiles -backupmethod full which just returns 'Command line error.' I think it might have something to do with the spaces in the name, so I tried saving it to STSADM.EXE -o backup -directory Z:\Archive\test\test2 -backupmethod full and it kind of works, except that there are errors.   Hi All, We are developing a solution which requires consulting some information on legacy systems. There is also a requirement to keep the system available even if the legacy systems are out. We are thinking about replicating the information on our application DB as a contingency (it is acceptable if the data we have to use does not change often).
