  • Michael A Thomas Approval Workflow in SharePoint 2007

We know that SharePoint 2007 comes with a set of out of box workflows. One of the features of the workflow that I found to be awkard and strange is that when the document is being routed through an approval workflow, each person in the approvers list is assigned a task. While editing the task the end user can enter his comments. An email goes as an alert to the next user regarding the task being assigned to him. But in the email, you never get to know what were the comments of the previous user. All the comments are consolidated and emailed at the end of the workflow. In the intermediate stages one has to log on to the Sharepoint site and check in the workflow status. Please share your views and thoughts ...Show All

  • RCS300 Best practice using data types in data access layer?

Hi, Well, couldnt quite find a valid group - hopefully this one will do. Im using the web service factory application tool with great joy ( http://www.gotdotnet.com/codegallery/codegallery.aspx id=6fde9247-53a8-4879-853d-500cd2d97a83 ). But i have come up short looking for best practices about using (or not using) data types in the data access layer. The scenario: I have some service call that in standard way gets data. Data access layer working on business objects and the service returning the translated data types. Now theres the need for paging results. Thus I create some usefull data types for Paging. In this case a PagingIn and PagingOut data type (eg. the pagingout would hold the total number of pages etc). Now - is it " ...Show All

  • DQM don to not use "Inheritance"

Have anyone try to design with no Inheritance at all I think *Inheritance* is not good as we think. It's force us to somthing we don't need, It's ok in some cases that better to be solved with no need to it. what do you think regards, dotHuman. I forgot to mention that inheritance is a good way for a framework to get context information (like current user or other security or environment info) to a component. Rather than passing this stuff in directly in function declarations, the framework can instantiate the component and initialize the context data privately through the base class. I've also seen this done using thread-local storage, though. erikj wrote: I forgot to m ...Show All

  • Mark Wahl Links wander from domain name to NetBIOS name...

Having setup MOSS a few times now, I guess maybe I'm just confused as to how set it up properly. I've set up the access mappings for a web application as such: Zone Internal External Default http://ComputerName http://ComputerName Extranet https://domain.name.com https://domain.name.com For some reason when a user goes to https://domain.name.com and clicks on MySite they are redirected to http://ComputerName Any thoughts -gg- Kiral, Sort of. • fermar84 How does datasheet control work?

Hi all, I am currently supporting WSS 2.0 sites for our users in the company. Recently, some users from UK started complaining that the DataSheet View does not work any more. I've investigated the issue and the problem was quite tricky to solve. It seems like when the page gets loaded, the datasheet is trying to retrieve the data. But somehow the page just displays "Page Cannot Displyed" error. As part of trouble-shooting, I am trying to see what is really happening behind the scene. Can anyone tell me how the datasheet control works What kind of protocol does it use to retrieve the data Is it something like XML over HTTP protocol How can I capture requests and responses between the client computer and the se ...Show All

  • MaggieChan GOST cryptography with IE

I have a few questions. 1) Can't IE understand certificates with GOST encryption & signing algorithms. I have a PFX file for GOST but I can't import it into IE. However, I can read the private key from the PFX file using Java program. 2) Even if I import it somehow, how will I do the signing part with CAPICOM because there is no underlying crypto provider in Microsoft that supports GOST algorithms. If I get a CSP for GOST, how can I use it to sign messages using CAPICOM 3) Do you know of any GOST CSP's that I can use with Windows Thanks in advance! Please help!! ...Show All

  • Vamshi Raghu Re-creating Hibernate Functionality

As I was using my PC today, I came across the idea that I wanted to close a running application, and be able to re-open it later in exactly the same state. I noted that this was exactly the same sort of behaviour as you get when you Hibernate your PC, so I started digging around for a way to accomplish a "Hibernate" of an application, without actually turning off the PC. I haven't been able to find anything relevant so far, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas A method/api call/something that will save the state of a program to disk (just as Hibernate does), and can recall it from disk at a later date There's got to be a way of doing this, maybe I'm just using the wrong search term Any help would be fantastic! ...Show All
