• Altug Atik Getting Access denied when nav to the Shared Service instance

  I created a Shared Service on my server a few days ago using the local administrator account. I have since created a separate Windows account (belongs to the Administrators group) for myself to use. I'm able to do everything in the Central Administration site but accessing this instance of Shared Serviced created a few days ago. What specific access rights does it need My windows account is in the Farm Administrators group too. I am facing this issue with accessing newly created SSP and never had issue like this. I can't access the admin site of SSP with any of accounts (set up user, farm admin , ssp pool and ssp service) used to setup but can access settings page like /_layouts/settings.aspx or s ...Show All

  Why am I asked to check out the page when I attempt to open it with FrontPage I dont think publishing is the problem - I think this is just how sharepoint works, since pages, like documents need to be checked out before being able to edit them. I think there is an option for automatic check out, but I am unsure how it is used. For some reason, one of two people both having Administrative permissions can open the page without being prompted to check out and not the other.   Could I install SPS07 on SQL Server 2000 In my test instance I receive "Failed to connect to the database server or the database name does not exist". Even through I use domain admin account. I install SPS07 on fresh windows server 2003 sp1 installation. SQL Server has installed sp4. So the steps you took were you created a service account. THat service account was given the security roles of "dbcreator and securityadmin" and you set these accounts up in SQL.   Hi: I've been working with the old version of sharepoint, there I work with one template that has some Content Placeholders (the top zone, the middle left zone, the middle right zone and the and the bottom zone). Now I have to work with sharepoint 2007, I have 2 portals but the templates I have only uses the middle left and right zone.
