  Hi Forum I'm currently reading the book "Analyzing Requirements and Defining Microsoft.Net Solution Architectures" for the 70-300 exam. I have come across a section where best practices for designing for scalablity is listed. They explain Commutability and come with an example. The problem is that I do not see the benifit of the solution they suggest. • kennm dormant task escalation

  Hi everyone, I have what seems to be a simple task that I can't seem to figure out. So I have the textbook SharePoint createTask -> what for it to change throught the onTaskChanged Activity within a While Loop -> Complete Task. The above is working perfectly. The problem is that I want to have the capability to escalate the task to another party if it takes, say longer than 5 days. This is contained within a sequential workflow and I would like to keep it that way, but I'm open to converting it to a state machine if that's what needs to happen.   Hi, I am new to SharePoint Technologies. I have a very basic question about templates. Say we select a template and create a site. When we want to create sub sites, the template list becomes subset (reduced options) as compared to the original set. E.g if I create a Publish Portal (Either Internet facing or Intranet) and then want to create a subsite like say Wiki or Blog under it I will not be able to as the only option that will be available is Publishing Site with WorkFlow. I am sure this will not be an unusual requirement. May be my undertstanding is wrong/missing something.   Hi, When you use version control on a document library the version allways start counting from 1.0 (first major check in). I want to upload a lot of documents that allready are under some sort of versioning system (manually, they keep logs of changes in an excel sheet). I would like to put them under version control in Sharepoint, but make the starting version the last number they had in their old system. So, upload a document and change the version to 3.4 for example.   Hi, I have created a custom field type for SharePoint that represents hierachical data from and XML file (stored in SharePoint) in a TreeView. I have created properties on the field to store the location of the source XML file and whether to render the TreeView as a multi-select, ie. with checkboxes. I created the properties in the _fldtypes xml definition using the property schema elements as they are only simple textboxes and checkboxes. My problem is that these properties work ok to add the form and save, but when you try and edit the field, the values in the properties reset to <field description> value. ie. they are not what was set and they are not even the default!
