  • amicalrahul a good book for me

Hello everyone, Well, now I have grown in my company and I will have a few more responsabilities, I will be project leader of small projects, and I would like to ask you for a good book for me. Perhaps one about methodology, agile or XP, about team system, or perhaps about enterprise patterns or something. Well, waiting for your suggestions Thanks in advance. Both the Martin Fowler books I mentioned are very readable and engaging, and it's very possible to read them cover-to-cover (I did read that way both of them). Here are some I'd recommend, all of them excellent books, on some of the topics you mention: Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture, by Martin Fowler Refactoring, by Martin Fowler The pragmatic ...Show All

  • Aaryant adhoc cube browsing

We have built a MOSS2007 extranet for one of our customers. We would like to allow our customer to browse SSAS2005 data to do real adhoc analysis. I was hoping that we could use the local excel 2007 installation to connect to the cube by using a data connection published on the data connection library. Unfortunately this does not work. Simply publishing excel workbooks is not sufficient, because you cannot drag and drop dimensions and measures. If anybody has a solution for this or tips for a workaround, please let me know... Thanks in advance Joos Just remove the firewall and place it all on the outside ;-) LOL No, Really, would Reporting Services not give you the ablilty to expose it out ...Show All

  • FelipeLopez Storing Session State

We have been using SQL Server to store session state for a while. Now we are growing and looking for more scalable alternatives. It looks like there are three products on the market: ScaleOut, Ncache and StateMirror. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with any of these beasts. Roger, I assume you suggest using a simple partitioning approach when web farm is divided into several pools and each pool has a dedicated SQL Server for session management. The drawbacks are: 1. Potentially uneven load balancing. I must admit that the chances for this are very few, but still - this is not a 100% scalable model. 2. Single point of failure. I agree this maybe not a big deal for some deployments, but in ...Show All

  • WingingIT don to not use "Inheritance"

Have anyone try to design with no Inheritance at all I think *Inheritance* is not good as we think. It's force us to somthing we don't need, It's ok in some cases that better to be solved with no need to it. what do you think regards, dotHuman. erikj wrote: I forgot to mention that inheritance is a good way for a framework to get context information (like current user or other security or environment info) to a component. Rather than passing this stuff in directly in function declarations, the framework can instantiate the component and initialize the context data privately through the base class. I've also seen this done using thread-local storage, though. But could ...Show All

  • CMick Setup Error: This product requires ASP.NET v2.0

Please help, trying to install WSS 3.0 on a x64 W2K3-server that is running WSS 2.0, but i get an error at the beginning of the setup: "This product requires ASP.NET v2.0 to be set to 'Allow' in the list of IIS Web Server Extensions" I have verified that it is set to allow, so that is not the issue. FYI, If you still get the error after running through the above on an x64-bit machine, please run C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe -i Note the (Framework64) folder instead of just (framework). • vbmon WSS Events list missing VSTF Portal

Hello, I posted this in the VSTF forum but was refered here when we hit a dead end. Here is a link to that forum ( https://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx PostID=1194351&SiteID=1&mode=1 ) Basically, I want to extent my Team Portals to have a calendar. I was told to use the Events web part and configure it to display as a calendar. Easy enough, right, well the trouble is I don't have access to the Events list object. The WSS has it b/c when I create a team project against a different process template (MSF agile) that team portal has the Events list. It is only in my Conchango Scrum for TFS team portals that I do not have access to the Events list. Is there a way I can import the Events list into my Scrum portals ...Show All

  • Scooter! What is Architecture and Who are Architects?

In the software/IT industry the notions of "Architecture" or "Architects" are certainly not very well defined. The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) supports four groups of enterprise architects -- business architects, data architects, application architects, and technology architects. Microsoft Certified Architect program so far designed for two certifications (solution architects and infrastructure architects), and one more certification, messaging architect, is coming soon. Different companies use titles such as "Chief Architect", "Industry Architect", "Integration Architect", etc. Job recruiters announce "Web Architect", "Software Architect", and "Dat ...Show All
